In Middle School, students aged 11 to 14 take ownership of their own learning in an environment that combines challenge with support. With personalized guidance, they develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Through our bilingual immersion program, they also learn Spanish as a third language, building confidence, broadening their worldview, and developing the global awareness essential for the future.

Students’ work, including literary projects, collaborative group assignments, science fairs, and individual research projects, including Individual Research Project, is complemented by structured assessments in essay and multiple-choice formats.
The TPI encourages students to explore topics of personal interest, developing intellectual independence and strengthening research, writing, and presentation skills.
This balanced approach makes it possible to recognize strong academic understanding, critical thinking, and the ability to apply learning in real-world contexts.
Students strengthen communication, teamwork, and empathy. They learn to give and receive feedback, resolve conflicts, and work together effectively. They also develop digital fluency, using technology responsibly and thinking critically as they navigate information.
Critical thinking and problem-solving are enhanced through experiments and interdisciplinary projects. Leadership and initiative grow as they take the lead on projects, participate in the Student Council, and get involved in community activities.

Students take ownership of their multilingual journey, developing fluency in both Portuguese and English across all grade levels. Spanish is offered as a complementary third language, enabling learners to expand their linguistic horizons and explore new cultures.
Progress is closely monitored: English learners take the annual Avant exam, assessing all four language skills, while Spanish students can earn an internationally recognized DELE certification. Bi-monthly assessments and ongoing review ensure continued growth as confident multilingual communicators.
Students challenge their peers through national and international academic competitions, including the Kangaroo Math Competition, International Math Without Borders, Brazilian Knowledge Olympiad, Brazilian Astronomy Olympiad, Brazilian Robotics Olympiad, Brazilian Geography Olympiad, and the São Paulo State Chemistry Olympiad.
They also participate in educational field trips that connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.
ISP’s ILOS programs provide opportunities to meet peers from around the globe, fostering global awareness, cultural exchange, and the skills of a true global citizen.
Students benefit from a comprehensive university and career guidance program starting as early as Middle School. In individual meetings, they explore their interests, identify their strengths, and set goals, building a path with purpose.
They are introduced early to university pathways, which supports subject choices, understanding of admissions processes, and test preparation.
