Portuguese (Native Language)
Students develop their Portuguese skills from Toddler 1 through Early Years, following a curriculum aligned with the BNCC. From the earliest years, children take part in rich literary projects, storytelling, and interactive activities that encourage reading, writing, and oral communication.
In Elementary School, students are encouraged to produce texts across different genres and use multiple forms of expression, deepening their understanding of language structure and culture. As they progress, they develop critical thinking and analytical skills, preparing for more advanced academic challenges and real-world contexts.
English (Second Language)
Students practice English every day at Progresso Bilíngue Santos, from Toddler 1 through High School. They learn through stories, songs, conversations, and hands-on activities, building fluency, confidence, and communication skills.
As they progress, they expand their skills through reading, writing, and discussion, while digital tools and international experiences, such as Flash Academy and the ILOS programs, make learning interactive and engaging. Teachers track progress through regular assessments and the annual Avant STAMP exam, helping each student grow into a confident and capable communicator in a global context.
Spanish (Complementary Language)
Students begin learning Spanish from Year 6 through Year 9, exploring the language through interactive lessons, cultural projects, and real-life situations.
They practice speaking, vocabulary, and comprehension while developing global awareness and intercultural understanding. Students can demonstrate their skills, expanding opportunities for academic and professional success in Brazil and abroad.
Through a rich mix of language experiences, we help students build the skills and resilience they need to thrive.
We believe in personalised language learning. Every new student completes:

The ISP introduced a different perspective on multilingual learning, which prompted me to reflect on how small changes could have an even greater positive impact on students' learning.
Murilo Camargo Almada, Bilingual Teacher
The ISP introduced a different perspective on learning, which led me to reflect on how small changes could have an even greater positive impact on student learning. As I deepened my understanding of the ISP concept, I realized the importance of placing students at the center of the learning process—not as passive participants, but as active learners who build their own learning journey. I began implementing different teaching strategies and practices that genuinely improved the flow of lessons and had a positive impact on meaningful learning. Simple actions, such as asking students about their level of understanding, holding class assemblies where they could express their ideas and questions, or encouraging them to respond to one another, resulted in significant changes. I can say that the ISP has transformed my perspective on student learning and strengthened my teaching practice by ensuring that student learning is at the heart of every lesson, rather than being merely an occasional outcome.
