Discover our language programs from Early Years to High School - supporting students from their first words to their greatest accomplishments.
Portuguese (native language)
Students begin their journey in Portuguese in Early Years and continue through to the end of High School, strengthening their reading, writing, and communication skills at every stage. From the early years, they take part in storytelling, creative projects, and group activities that spark imagination, encourage personal expression, and develop collaboration.
As they progress, students deepen their understanding of language, culture, and critical thinking, preparing them for higher education and for the challenges of everyday life.
English (second language)
English learning begins in Toddler 1 and carries on through Year 12, with students experiencing immersive lessons and using digital tools such as iPads and Flash Academy to support their progress.
Early learners practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing through songs, stories, and interactive experiences. As they move up, they become more fluent and confident in English.
Every bilingual class uses the Stamp Avant English assessment, so students can see how far they've come and confirm their skills at each stage.
Spanish (complementary language)
Students start Spanish in Year 6 and continue until Year 9, exploring the language through hands-on lessons and cultural projects. They practice speaking, build vocabulary, and strengthen comprehension in real-world settings. Those who wish can pursue DELE certification to showcase their abilities.
This complementary program helps students broaden their global outlook and communication skills, supporting their growth as multilingual learners.
Students step up and build confidence through a rich mix of language experiences. Every day, they strengthen skills and resilience, ready to thrive in any setting.
Students track their language journey with hands-on activities, regular check-ins, and the Stamp Avant exam. They measure progress in all four English skills and celebrate every milestone.
From Middle School, students stretch further and take the DELE Spanish exam, showing what they know and setting new goals with each assessment.
Students dive into real-world language opportunities. They join International Learning Opportunities, immerse in cultural exchanges, spark debates, and create films.
Students compete in national academic challenges, go on field trips and present projects at Science Fairs. Every experience is a safe, exciting space where students practice, grow, and lead with confidence.
Elementary School students who need additional support to accelerate their English fluency benefit from personalised interventions during Alcance sessions, where targeted activities focused on vocabulary, fluency, and communication enhance confidence and skills.
Every moment becomes an opportunity to experience bilingualism in a natural and meaningful way.
Larissa Macedo, Teacher - ECE
Closely following the dynamics of learning and teaching in two languages is a truly enriching experience. In practice, I see that Bilingual Early Childhood Education goes far beyond the simple introduction of a second language; it forms the essential foundation for the academic and personal development of the future bilingual learner. With intentionality, care, and commitment, every moment becomes an opportunity to experience bilingualism in a natural and meaningful way. This ongoing practice creates a cycle of continuous improvement that benefits both our young learners, as they expand their horizons each day, and us as educators, as we strive to be the best versions of ourselves in the classroom.
Master languages at Progresso Taquaral to connect across cultures, inspire change, and build flourishing futures on a global stage.
