Middle School students’ academic achievement is measured through a comprehensive assessment process that values both creativity and mastery. Student-generated work, including Literary Projects, Individual Research Projects, and collaborative group assignments, is combined with structured evaluations in essay and multiple-choice formats. This balanced approach enables the school to recognize not only consolidated knowledge, but also research skills, creative thinking, and the ability to apply learning to real-world situations.
Learners strengthen communication, teamwork, and empathy, learning to give and receive feedback, resolve conflicts, and work effectively with others. Digital fluency is fostered as students use technology while critically navigating information. Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills are strengthened through experiments and interdisciplinary projects. Progress is carefully tracked - for English, students take the annual Avant exam, while for Spanish, the DELE exam provides an internationally recognized measure of proficiency.
Regular classroom observations, reviews of student work, and bi-monthly internal assessments further ensure that students grow as multilingual communicators.
Students continue to challenge peers in national and international academic competitions, including Kangaroo Math Competition, International Math Without Borders, Brazilian Knowledge Olympiad, Brazilian Astronomy Olympiad, Brazilian English Language Olympiad, Brazilian Robotics Olympiad, Brazilian Geography Olympiad, and São Paulo State Chemistry Olympiad. They also embark on educational field trips to destinations that connect classroom learning with the real world. In addition, ISP's ILOS experiences open doors to meet peers from all over the world.
