Students progress with a curriculum 50% in Portuguese and 50% in English, developing essential skills in core academics, while deepening their understanding of the natural and socio-political world. Play and interaction develop self-knowledge and self-care, along with empathy and care for others.
Embracing the national language From Y1 to Y5, students explore Portuguese through reading, writing, speaking and analyzing language every day. They get hands-on with short stories, poems, comic strips and news articles, building a rich cultural repertoire from the start. Every lesson is a rehearsal space for curiosity, where students build comprehension, interpretation, and enjoyment of reading. By engaging with different text genres and sharing ideas in reading circles and literary projects, learners develop written and verbal expression, argumentation, and respect for turn-taking.
Expressing through rhythm and sound Learners immerse themselves in music, developing rhythmic and melodic skills while practicing active listening and artistic expression. By exploring a wide range of cultural styles, traditions, and historical contexts, they build cultural appreciation and sensitivity. Singing, playing instruments, sound games, and composing music enhance coordination, focus, aesthetic awareness, and a strong sense of cultural identity and belonging.
Imagining and creatingStudents experiment with diverse materials, techniques, and visual languages, nurturing imagination, creativity, and personal expression. As their abilities grow, their artwork reflects greater aesthetic sophistication, with attention to composition, color, shape, and texture, while fostering thoughtful appreciation for their own creations and those of others. Art is linked to the broader world, encouraging interpretation and appreciation of diverse cultural works and building a rich visual repertoire.
Understanding the past for a better future From their daily lives to their families and communities, students connect the dots between past and present, discovering how society works and why cultural diversity matters. Every lesson sparks investigative thinking, encourages dialogue and invites students to analyze sources, ask questions and share ideas. History is about interpreting events, understanding today’s world and participating actively and critically in society. Learners grow as thinkers and communicators, ready to shape their future with knowledge and empathy. All topics are aligned with the BNCC, ensuring a rich, relevant and student-led experience.
Exploring the world Geography is a hands-on exploration of the connections between society and nature. Students observe and compare different landscapes, learn to locate themselves using reference points, and interpret maps, plans, and images, developing essential spatial awareness and geographic literacy. They discover how people organize, transform, and relate to places, building a deeper understanding of their own environment. The curriculum encourages appreciation of diversity and fosters environmental and civic awareness, anchoring sustainable relationships from the earliest years.
Exploring stories, voices, and ideas Students deepen their reading, interpretation, and analytical abilities as Literary Projects evolve in complexity. Carefully chosen texts spark rich dialogue on social, cultural, and human themes, connecting literature to real-life experiences and encouraging critical thinking. Through discussions, creative writing, and immersive literary activities, learners cultivate a passion for language, broaden their perspectives, and strengthen the link between school and the wider world.
Moving, playing, and discovering Students take part in Physical Education activities that progressively develop motor skills, body awareness, coordination, balance, agility, and endurance. Collaborative games are central, promoting teamwork, empathy, respect for rules, and cooperation, with an emphasis on shared learning and enjoyment of the activity. These experiences help learners see movement as a means of self-expression, social connection, and wellbeing, laying the groundwork for a healthy, active lifestyle.
Learning to care and collaborate Learners develop social-emotional skills through Programa Semente, with activities tailored to each stage of development. Playful exercises, reflection, and group interactions nurture self-awareness, empathy, emotional regulation, autonomy, and healthy relationships. As they navigate daily challenges and celebrate successes, students strengthen emotional intelligence and build a strong sense of belonging within a supportive community.
Creating, experimenting, leading Students dive into hands-on creative projects that spark innovation, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving. Through a "learning by doing" approach, they experiment, test ideas, and construct solutions while practicing teamwork and collaboration. The program also fosters student agency and leadership, empowering learners to take ownership of their ideas and become active creators of knowledge.
Building logical reasoning Mathematics is designed to be meaningful and relevant for every student. Through concrete activities and real-world challenges, children deepen their understanding of numbers, operations, measurements, and geometric shapes. They learn to read, interpret, and solve problems, investigate patterns, and explore spatial relationships. By connecting mathematical concepts to everyday life, students develop logical reasoning, creativity, and autonomy, preparing them to make informed decisions and approach challenges with confidence.
Exploring through experimentation Students discover the natural, social and technological world, sparking questions and leading investigations that connect learning to everyday life. They observe, experiment, record and explain what they discover, building knowledge through hands-on experiences and simple research. Learners explore the human body, living beings and their environments, materials and their transformations, Earth, space and the technologies they use every day. They take ownership, learning to care for themselves, others and the environment.
Students in Elementary School build strong academic foundations in English and Portuguese while they enhance social, personal, and communication skills through international experiences and extra-curricular activities.

Through a bilingual curriculum and interactive learning experiences, children strengthen language skills and logical reasoning. Communication flourishes as students develop oral language abilities and academic presentation skills, while teamwork and collaboration are nurtured through group projects and classroom activities. Responsibility and autonomy are encouraged, empowering students to take ownership of their learning. Leadership begins to emerge as students participate in student-led initiatives and collaborative projects, building confidence and decision-making abilities. Through Programa Semente, students become curious, empathetic, and resilient individuals who thrive both independently and as part of a team.
Learners advance their bilingual abilities through a balanced 50/50 curriculum in English and Portuguese, deepening reading, writing, and math skills with engaging projects and collaborative challenges. Progress is closely monitored by the pedagogical team through daily classroom observations, bi-monthly assessments, and the annual Avant exam, ensuring students build fluency and confidence across all four English language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Learners who need additional support to fast-track English fluency can join Alcance sessions that build vocabulary, confidence, and proficiency in a stimulating environment.
From Elementary, students begin participating in national and international academic competitions and take annual educational field trips to destinations that connect classroom learning with the real world. Recent examples include Zoo Parque Itatiba, Plantarum Nova Odessa and Ciência Divertida, Fazenda Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Aldeia Nakana, and Casa Mário de Andrade. In addition, ILOS opportunities including ISP Artists, ISP Chess Masters, and ISP Scientists, open doors for learners to engage in enriching international experiences, broadening their horizons and fostering global awareness from an early age.
We truly feel a strong partnership and complete confidence in the bilingual method. It’s rewarding to see that English development happens naturally, alongside excellent progress in all the other subjects.
